Chargers Mauled by Tigers

Cypress, CA -- Fresh off a hard earned 15-9 victory Thursday over Riverside, the Chargers turned around to play the Tigers again at home Friday and lost big, 9-0.

Steven Kane started at pitcher for the Chargers and endured a difficult 2nd inning when the Tigers did most of their offensive damage scoring five unanswered runs. Kane was relived in the fifth by Jaret Vermillion but is credited with five strikeouts, 11 hits, and seven runs.

Riverside added two more unanswered runs in the top of the 5th and then another two unanswered runs in the top of the 8th to extend their final lead to 9-0.

With the loss Cypress falls to 15-11 overall and 6-7 in conference play. Next week they will head to Fullerton to play Tuesday (4/1) and Thursday (4/3) against the Hornets with both games slated to begin at 2pm at Hornet Field.
