Chargers Fall to Pirates

Cypress, CA -- The Chargers fell to OCC at home by the score of 12-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The game started out quick for the Pirates in the top of the 2nd when Daniel Delaney hit a two-run home run that put OCC up 2-0. 

Cypress then surrendered two more runs in the top of the 4th to go down 4-0. 

The Chargers had a difficult time getting out of the top of the 6th as they gave up 8 runs before ending the inning. The Chargers went through four pitchers before they were able to get the third out. Starting pitcher Ryan Hartman was replaced by Ricky Shafer who threw to four batters before being replaced by John Forsythe. Five batters later he was replaced by Blake Mitchell who finished out the inning. 

Cypress was able to drive in a run in the bottom of the 9th when Grant Mayeaux singled to drive in Nick La Sala from third, however the lead was insurmountable for Cypress and the game ended 12-1 in favor of the Pirates.

Cypress now drops to 12-9 overall and 3-5 in conference. 

The Chargers will face OCC again this Thursday (3/20) on the road. Game time is set for 2pm.
