Chargers Hand El Camino 4-1 Loss.

Cypress, CA. -- Cypress hosted El Camino on Tuesday and came away with a 4-1 victory in a game that lasted only one hour and 52 minutes.

Cypress put the first run on the board in the bottom of the 1st when Matt Tietz scored from third after Joe Duffin hit an RBI double.

In the 3rd inning Tietz scored again after the catcher mishandled the throw on a fielders choice at the plate. Later in the inning Kramer Ferrell singled to bring Tyler Gnesda home to make the score 3-0 Cypress.

Tietz scored for the third time in the bottom of the fifth off a Joe Duffin single to increase the Charger lead to 4-0.

In the top of the ninth, El Camino tried to mount a rally and did score one run on a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 4-1. However, the next two Warrior batters were struck out to end the game.

Ryan Hartman got the start and his second win of the season for Cypress. He got five strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings pitched  before being replaced by Jon Forsythe. Forsythe was replaced in the ninth by Payton Lobdell who threw the final two strikeouts.

The Chargers remain at home this week for a Thursday and Saturday match-up against Hancock. Game time for Thursday is at 2pm.
