Hornets Blank Chargers

Cypress, CA -- In a game that was originally scheduled to be played at Fullerton but moved to Cypress because of wet field conditions, the Hornets did not skip a beat and blanked the Chargers, 6-0.

Cypress pitcher Steven Kane started the game and pitched 6 innings, throwing 3 strikeouts while allowing 9 hits. He is credited with the first loss of his Charger career.

The Hornets jumped out in front in the 1st inning, 1-0 after a KC Huth single drove in Dakota Wix for the first run of the game.

Fullerton added three more runs in the top of the 2nd and then finished out the scoring for the day with another two in the top of the 6th to go up 6-0.

Cypress was unable to produce offensively during the game, despite having the bases loaded for three different Cypress batters.

Cypress falls to 1-3 in conference play and 10-7 overall. The Chargers next head to Golden West on Saturday (3/8) for a noon match-up with the Rustlers.
