Trio of Chargers Earn All-OEC Honors

Irvine, CA -- With the recent close of the 2014 baseball regular season, the Orange Empire Conference released its annual list of 1st and 2nd team All-OEC players based on player performance throughout the season.

Chargers Matt Esparza and Joe Duffin were 1st team selections as pitcher and designated hitter respectively. Making the All-OEC 2nd team as an outfielder was Kramer Ferrell

Esparza appeared on the mound 13 times for the Chargers this season. He had a final pitching record of 5-1 with one save. He totaled 70 strikeouts throughout 63 innings pitched and finished the season with an ERA of 3.14. 

As the Chargers primary designated hitter, Duffin finished the season with a batting average of .336 along with five home runs. He also hit 13 doubles and 40 singles while driving in 32 RBI's and scoring 20 runs. 

Appearing in 35 games as an outfielder, Farrell had a complete fielding percentage of 1.000. At the plate he hit four home runs, three triples, 11 doubles, and had 42 singles. He drove in 24 RBI's while scoring 22 runs himself. 

The Chargers ended their season at 21-15 overall and 11-10 in conference. They were left out of the CCCAA playoff picture after end of the regular season.
