Lasers  gun down Chargers

Irvine, CA. -- Cypresss baseball traveled to Irvine Valley today to make-up Friday's rained out matchup and came out on the losing end of a 6-3 game. 

Irvine Valley wasted no time openening up the scoring in the bottom of the 1st with a three-run inning that put them up, 3-0. 

In the second inning Cypress immediately tied up the score. With two outs and the bases loaded Matt Tietz singled into leftfield and because of an error by the leftfielder, the hit scored all three Charger baserunners and Tietz advanced to second base. 

Irvine then scored 3 mores runs in the top of the 4th to go back on top 6-3. 

The rest of the game went scoreless and Irvine Valley closed out the win in the top of the 9th. 

Ryan Hartman gets the loss for the Chargers. He pitched 3 2/3 innings and threw six strikeouts. Payton Lobdell came in to relieve Hartman in the fourth and finished out the game, thowing two strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings pitched. 

Cypress drops to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play. 

They host Riverside at home tomorrow at 2pm.
