Chargers Stun Lasers

Cypress, Calif -- The Charger Women's Soccer Team was looking to get back on track after an uncharacteristic 0-2 loss on the road against Golden West last Friday.

Irvine Valley came into today's game with a perfect 3-0 conference record and were loooking to extend that record to 4-0. However, the Chargers had different plans. Cypress took control of the game early when forward Laura Najera found the back of the net in just the second mintue.

The Charges proceeded to score another goal just a few mintues later which was taken away by an offsides call. After one half of play the Chargers led 1-0. They had taken six shots compared to just three for the Lasers.

In the second half of play the Chargers put on a scoring clinic. Charger Forward Alex Ishihara scored a goal in the 54th minute and then Najera took control and scored two goals within ten mintues of each other in the 63rd and 73rd minute to complete the hat-trick.

The Chargers finished with 18 shots compared to just four for the Lasers.

Up next, the Chargers go on the road to take on Norco this Friday(10/4) at 3pm.
