Women's Soccer Fights for the Draw

Cypress, Calif. -- With the end of the game in sight, and the Chargers down 2-1, it seemed as though Cypress was going lose to Orange Empire Conference foe Orange Coast today at Ray Hass field. Charger Deferender Alex Moctezuma was deteremined to not let that happen. In the 88th minute of today's thriller against the Pirates, Moctezuma took the ball just over the midfield stripe and sliced her way through the OCC defense and found the back the goal to tie the game up and avoid the loss. Kylie Redmond is credited with the assist on the goal.

Earlier in the game the Chargers got on the board in the 18th minute with an unassisted goal by Kendra Serrano. Shortly before the first half ended OCC got on the board with a goal in the 43rd minute.

In the 75th minute OCC took the lead with a quick goal and then Cypress looked to even things up. That was when Moctezuma took charge and made a play to put the Chargers even with the Pirates. The final whistle was blown as Cypress was trying to press the ball downfield for another goal and the win.

The Chargers record now stands at 2-2-3. They will next be in action playing at Golden West this Friday, Sept. 27 at 3pm.
