Chargers Roll Over Norco

Cypress, Calif, -- The Chargers gave the Mustangs a long ride home to Norco after pouring on seven goals in today's OEC match-up. This is the Chargers second victory over Norco this season. On Oct. 4th, they also won, 2-0. 

The scoring started in the eleventh minute when Alex Ishihara tapped in a pass from Thania Valenica three yards in front of the goal. Jorden Wozniak then scored two goals back-to-back, the first of her Charger career, in the 17th and 29th minute. Shortly thereafter Kimberly Gonzalez put in an terrific header off an pass by Laura Najera in the 34th minute. That put the Chargers up 4-0 at the half. 

Two minutes into the second half, in the 47th minute, the Chargers found the net again. This time it was Jade Perez, assisted by Kimberly Gonzalez. Elizabeth Gutierrez then scored an unassisted goal in the 56th minute off a bad pass by the Norco goalie. 

Norco was able to get on the board with in the 58th minute when they succesfully converted a penalty kick. 

Laura Najera then got a goal of her own in the 64th minute off an assist by Rachel Lucaci. The final score read Chargers 7 - Norco 1. 

Up next, the Chargers (9-3-1 Conf., 10-5-2 Ovr.) look to continue their win streak as they head to Santa Ana this Friday (Nov. 8) at 3pm to take on the Dons on their brand new soccer field.
