Cypress – The No. 11 Chargers women's basketball team (21-7, 9-2 OEC) defeated rival Fullerton (16-10, 5-6 OEC) on Wednesday evening by a score of 74-59.
Three players scored in double-digits, led by Lauren Hong's team-high 17. Jeana Magaña chipped in 14, while Erika Nilsen added 12. Magaña nearly had a double-double as she grabbed a team-high nine boards.
After leading by as many as nine in the first half, Fullerton was able to tie the game at the halftime break. After regrouping at halftime, the Chargers came out firing and led by as many as 17 points in the second half.
The Chargers wrap up the regular season on Friday when they host Orange Coast (5-20, 2-9 OEC) at 7:00 pm.
