Cypress – The Cypress women's basketball team (18-6, 6-1 OEC) dominated Saddleback (12-12, 3-4 OEC) on Friday evening thanks in part Haley Gorman's impressive night on the court.

 

Gorman tallied her first double-double of the season, knocking down a team high in both points (20, 8-of-10) and rebounds (17). Katelyn McCutcheon also had a big night as she chipped in 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-4 from the three-point line. DeShields Fajardo added 15 points, while Vivian Lara had 12 to round out Cypress' double-digit scorers. As a team, the Chargers shot 44% from the field and out-rebounded Saddleback 58-45.

 

At the half, Cypress had built up a comfortable 20 point lead (53-33) and never looked back as the team went on to win by 30.

 

Up next, the Chargers hit the road for three games. They first head to Riverside on Wednesday, Feb. 4 for a 7:00 pm contest with Riverside (15-8, 4-3 OEC).
