Cypress - The eighth-ranked women's basketball team will play host to seven teams this weekend in the 31st annual Lady Charger Classic, held Friday-Sunday (Dec. 5-7).
The tournament features three ranked teams - No. 4 Palomar, No. 5 East LA and No. 8 Cypress. Also playing in the Classic are West LA, Orange Coast, Grossmont, LA Southwest and Santa Monica.
Action kicks off on Friday at 2:00 pm when West LA faces East LA. Game two features Orange Coast versus Grossmont, while Cypress will take on LA Southwest in game three (6:00 pm). The final contest on Friday pits Santa Monica against Palomar and is scheduled to start at 8:00 pm.
On Saturday, the first two games will feature the losing teams in the top half of the bracket from Friday's games and will start at 1:00 pm. In the winners bracket, games will start at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Sunday's first game will be the consolation championship at 11:00 am, with the third-place game to follow at 3:00 pm and the championship game to be played at 5:00 pm.
