Cypress – The South Region's top ranked team, Mt. SAC (4-0), defeated No. 14 Cypress (5-2) 81-57 on Friday evening, in the Chargers home opener.
The Chargers only trailed by seven at the half, but the Mounties' offense was tough to contain in the second as they outscored Cypress 44-27.
Jeana Magaña led the way for the Chargers with 16, scoring in double-digits for the fourth time this season. Lauren Hong led the team in rebounds with six, while also tallying nine points in the game.
The 2014-15 season continues in two weeks when the women host the Lady Charger Classic Dec. 5-7. Cypress will play in the third game on Friday, Dec. 5 versus LA Southwest, which tips off at approximately 6:00 pm.
