
Chargers stumble in loss to Guachos

Cypress, CA -- The Chargers hosted Saddelback Wednesday night and were unable to clinch win number two in conference play. The 76-55 defeat to the Gauchos, who are ranked third in the conference, was their 14th loss of the season
The Chargers started off the game without David Gonzalez, their leading scorer, in the starting line-up. While Cypress was able to get on the board first, it was Saddleback who controlled the game. With a little under eight minutes to go in the first half and the score at 24-21, the Gauchos went on an 11-0 run to pull ahead 35-21. At that point, Saddleback never looked back and led by as much as 27 in the second half.
Leading the way for Cypress was Kevin Barnes who scored 18 points and grabbed four rebounds. Jerred Cook came up with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists while David Gonzalez came off the bench to score 11 for the Chargers.
Next on the schedule, the Chargers will travel to play at Santa Ana this Monday (1/29). Game time is at 5:30pm.
