Gonzalez On Fire in San Diego Mesa Tournament
Cypress goes 1-2 in Weekend Tournament
San Diego, CA. The Chargers spent the weekend at the San Diego Mesa Tournament where they faced East LA, San Diego Mesa and Grossmont.
In the first game Cypress came away with big 74-71 win. Mark Townes led the Chargers with 24 points and David Gonzalez also chipped in with 20 of his own.
In the second game they played the host team, San Diego Mesa. Mesa proved to be too much for the Chargers and Mesa came away with an 84-74 win. David Gonzalez led the Charger attack with 21 points and Edward Dolphin followed with 14.
The Chargers final game of the weekend was against Grossmont. Even though David Gonzalez set two Charger records in the game (most points at 50, and most 3's in a game at 12), Cypress was unable to stop the Grossmont attack and lost, 86-75.
Cypress plays at El Camino this Friday (1/3) in their last game before Orange Empire Conference play begins. Tip is set for 7pm.
