Whittier, Calif. -- The Cypress Men's Basketball team headed to Rio Hondo on Wednesday night looking for another "W", but ended up with a bitter 84-69 loss.
The Chargers were limited on offense in the first half as they found themselves down 46-19 at the half. Although they outscroed Rio Hondo 50-38 in the second half, it was too little too late as Rio Hondo had already established a substantial lead.
The Chargers leading scorer was David Gonzalez with 18 points. Gonzalez shot 50% from the floor and 40% from 3-pt going 4 for 10. Mark Townes added 16 points as he shot 40% and was 75% from 3-pt shooting 3-4. Kevin Barnes grabbed 10 rebounds and added another 11 points for Cypress.
The Chargers look to improve as they host Long Beach City College this Wednesday at 6pm in Gym II.
