CYPRESS, Calif. --- Lauren Hong from the Women's Basketball program has been named the January 12- January 19, 2014 "Charger Athlete of the Week".

Hong scored a season high 24 points in a come from behind overtime victory against Riverside College on January 17.  Her 24 points came off a 56% shooting performance with four of those points being scored in the crucial overtime period.

On top of the impressive scoring night, Hong also recorded six assists and three steals in the contest for the Cypress Chargers.

The road victory continued the Lady Chargers winning streak and helped maintain their first place mark in the Orange Empire Conference standings.

Lauren is currently averaging a respectable eight points, three rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game so far in the 2013-14 season.

Most recently, Hong has averaged 12.8 PPG in her last five games for the Lady Chargers.
