Men's Basketball Defeats LA Trade Tech

Fullerton, CA- The Cypress College men's basketball team (2-1) was able to bounce back in the second round of the Fullerton Tournament with a 72-63 win over LA Trade Tech (0-3) on Friday night. 

The Chargers were led by sophomore Jordan Fleck, who put up 20 points, grabbed 9 boards, 6 steals, and dished out 4 assists. Nolan Kelly added 16 points and 8 rebounds on 50% shooting. Zachary Perez chipped in 15 points, 6 of them coming at the line as he continually found ways to attack the rim. 

Cypress held LA Trade Tech to 33% shooting, while Nolan Kelly carried the load offensively with 12 of his 16 points coming in the first half to secure an 11 point halftime lead for the Chargers. 

Cypress opened up the second half on a 17-7 run, which increased their lead to 21 with 11 minutes remaining in the game. However, LA Trade Tech cut into the lead as the Chargers struggled to keep them off of the foul line. Trade Tech cut the lead down to 9 points with under a minute remaining but Cypress held on to win 72-63. 

Men's basketball will jump back into action tomorrow, November 14th in the Fullerton Tournament's consolation championship at 1:00 pm against Victor Valley.
