Cypress- The Cypress College Men's Basketball team (1-0) defeated the visiting El Camino Warriors (0-1) in their home opener on Wednesday night 82-64.

The Chargers offense was firing on all cylinders led by a career high 24 points from Jordan Fleck on 8-9 shooting and career high 19 points from Zachary Perez on 4-8 shooting. As a team, the Chargers shot 58.5% from the field and 42.9% from 3-point range.

Cypress went into the locker room up 3 points at the end of the first half before going on a 22-7 run early in the second half. The Chargers picked up their defensive intensity, forcing the Warriors to turn the ball over and take contested jump shots. The Warriors shot 30% from the field and 9.1% from beyond the arc in the second half.

El Camino had no answer for the Chargers aggressive offensive attack. Sophomore guard Nolan Kelly drove through the lane and threw it down hard while absorbing the contact from El Camino guard Isiah Armstead to put the Chargers up 23 points and seal the deal late in the second half.
