Men’s Soccer Wraps up 2014 Season

Cypress – The Charger men's soccer team (8-9-4, 3-9-2 OEC) wrapped up the 2014 season on Friday afternoon, falling to No. 15 Santiago Canyon 2-1.

Santiago was leading 2-0 when Cypress was awarded a penalty kick with less than two minutes to play in the first half after the keeper interfered with Ryan Jara. Ryan Cooley shot the PK and converted it as Cypress closed to within 2-1 at the break.

The Chargers were strong on offense in the second half, but just could not get a ball into the net as they lost the final game of the season.

Cypress' eight wins is the most for the program since the 2009 season when the team went 8-10-4. The team also had an undefeated non-conference schedule for the first time in program history.
