Men’s Soccer Plays to 2-2 Draw With Orange Coast
Cypress – The men's soccer team (7-6-4, 2-6-2 OEC) played to a 2-2 draw with visiting Orange Coast on Friday afternoon, snapping a four-game losing streak. OCC is now 5-4-7 on the year and 4-2-4 in conference play.

Cypress scored first after Aaren Lewis passed a great ball to Sergio Avila, who tallied his first goal of the season. The Chargers then took a 2-0 lead after an Orange Coast player headed the ball directly into his own net while trying to clear it out.

Orange Coast pulled within one goal early in the second half. Then, the Chargers had what appeared to be a goal when the OCC goalie bobbled a shot and Lewis challenged him and headed it in, but the referee called off the goal. Shortly thereafter, OCC scored the equalizer with five minutes to play and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Cypress will next face Golden West on the road Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 3:00 pm.
