Lewis Keys Soccer’s 4-2 Victory at Norco

Norco – The Cypress men's soccer team notched a 4-2 road victory at Norco on Tuesday afternoon as Aaren Lewis, the conference's leading scorer, found the back of the net on two occasions. He now has 13 goals on the season as the Chargers improved to 2-2-1 in OEC play and 7-2-3 overall. Norco is still winless in conference play (0-5) and 1-9-2 on the year.

Cypress struck first off of a corner kick by Allen Oliveras crossed to Lewis, who then headed it in. Norco was able to tie the game, but the Chargers responded a few minutes later with another goal in which Lewis went around their right back and crossed it to Shawn Hansen for the score. Cypress added another goal just before halftime when Hansen found Lewis behind their back line for the score.

In the second half, Cypress went up 4-1 when Jesus Ibarra found Jordan Hunter right through the middle of the Norco defense. The ref then awarded Norco a penalty kick on what he thought was a hand ball in the box, which was converted for the final score of the game, 4-2.

The Chargers return home on Friday to host Fullerton in a special doubleheader with the women's team that will be played in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cypress will be charging admission ($5/adults; $2/ kids & seniors; Cypress students free with valid ID), with all proceeds from ticket sales being donated directly to the Orange County chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The men's game kicks off the action at 1:00 pm, while the women's match will follow at 3:00 pm.
