Men’s Soccer Falls to Santa Ana 3-1

Santa Ana, Calif. – The Cypress men's soccer team (6-1-2, 1-1 OEC) suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Santa Ana College on the road Friday afternoon by a score of 3-1.

 

Santa Ana scored all three of its goals in the first half and led 3-0 at the break. Cypress finally got on the board after an unassisted goal by conference scoring leader Aaren Lewis in the 66th minute, marking his 10th goal of the season.

 

 The Chargers had a chance to close within one after a penalty kick was awarded in the final minute of play, but Santa Ana's goalie made a save on Armondo Monjarez's shot and the game ended with the Dons winning 3-0.

 

Cypress will head to Orange Coast on Tuesday, Oct. 7 before returning home to host Golden West on Friday, Oct. 10.
