Chargers Take on Familiar Competition in Riverside

Chargers Traveled to El Camino College for their Season Debut

COSTA MESA, CA - Cypress men's swim traveled to Orange Coast College for the second Orange Empire Conference Swim meet and finished in sixth place.

MISSION VIEJO, CA - The Cypress men's swim team traveled to Saddleback College for the Orange Empire Conference first meet of the season. The Chargers had three swimmers compete and finished in fifth place.

TORRANCE, CA - The Chargers swim team traveled to El Camino College for their first meet of the 2024 campaign. The men's swim team landed in sixth place at the Triple Distance Meet.

Three Cypress Swimmers, Ethan Umpornpuckdi, Nicole Maslog, and Marisol Narvaez competed in the CCCAA State Championships at East Los Angeles College this past weekend (5/5-5/7). Ethan Umpornpuckdi raised the 36th state championship banner in school history as he finished first place in the 1650 Free with a time of 16:22.10. Marisol Narzaez set a Cypress school record in the 400 IM with a time of 5:03.06.

Cypress Chargers swim traveled to Riverside City College for the OEC championships on Friday, April 22-24. The Cypress men and women both placed 5th overall in their respective competition. Orange Coast College's men and women took home the championship for the 2022 season.

Chargers swim competed at Riverside City College in an Orange Empire Conference meet on Friday, March 25th. Cypress finished in 5th place in both men's and women's competition.

The Cypress Chargers Swim Team competed at the 44th Annual Cuesta Arena Swim Invite on March 11-12th at Cuesta College. Twenty teams throughout the state of California were in attendance where the Cypress Chargers women finished in 12th place and the men finished in 13th place.

Cypress Chargers Swim opened OEC comeptition on Friday, March 4th at Orange Coast College. The women's team placed 4th overall (259 pts) while the men's team finished 5th (197 pts).

The Cypress College Chargers Swimming & Diving competed at the Mt. SAC Swimming & Diving Invitational February 24-26. Both the teams placed 9th in the meet, the women finished with 223 points while the men scored 201. Twenty schools attended the tournament with Sierra College winning the women’s title and Cuesta College winning the men's title.

Cypress Chargers swim opened up their 2022 season at El Camino College on Saturday, February 12th. The unscored, triple distance meet was the first competition under new head coach, Frisk Driscoll.

Frisk Driscoll has been named the new Swim and Dive Head Coach at Cypress College. The appointment comes following a comprehensive national search after the retirement of long time swim coach, Larry Beidler.

Cypress College bids the Men's and Women's Swim & Dive Head Coach, Larry Beidler, farewell after 50+ years on the pool deck. Beidler was hired as the full-time Head Coach of the Cypress Chargers aquatics program in 1996.

The Cypress College swim and dive team traveled to Costa Mesa for the OEC Championships at Orange Coast. The two-day meet started Thursday morning with prelim events and ended Friday night with the finals. The Chargers scored 474 points and took 5th place as a team, 4th place in women's events, and 4th place in men's events.
