Chargers Keep It Rolling, Defeat Citrus 5-1

Cypress, CA- Cypress College baseball hosted the Citrus Owls on Wednesday afternoon. The Chargers pitched a phenomenal game and came out victorious, 5-1.

Sebastian Diaz got the start on the mound for Cypress and threw 4 shutout innings. The freshman did a great job getting out of jams early on with the help of catcher, Rafael Flores, who gunned down two baserunners in the each of the first two innings. A pair of doubles in the first inning by Andrew Sojka and Hayden Schott pushed the Chargers out to a 2-0 lead. Flores began the second inning with a double off the wall, and Carson Letterman followed with a double of his own to bring in Flores. The Chargers entered the third inning up 4-0. Josh Landry and Travis Lavendier came out of the bullpen for Cypress as they coasted to their 11th victory of the year.

Up Next: The Chargers will host Palomar (4-8) on Saturday. First pitch will be at 12:00pm.
