Chargers Sweep Golden West

Huntington Beach- The Cypress College volleyball team (13-5, 4-0 OEC) remains undefeated in OEC play after a 3-0 sweep over Golden West (6-6, 2-2 OEC) on Wednesday night (25-20, 25-20, 25-20). The Chargers volleyball team extended their win streak to four on Wednesday with their last three wins coming in sweeps.

The Chargers were able to control the match against Golden West despite trailing by as much as four points in each of the first two sets. Madison May collected 14 kills in 24 attempts for a season high .542 hitting percentage to go along with 6 digs. Rockelle Gholson continued to make her presence felt in the middle with 6 kills 3 blocks and 4 block assists. Emily Witz added 12 digs while Pam Fa'Alata had 33 assists in their return to the Chargers lineup.

The Chargers 4-0 conference record has them sitting atop the Orange Empire Conference with a one game lead over IVC. Cypress will look to continue their dominant play when they travel to Riverside on Friday, October 16th.
