Men’s Basketball Standout Jerred Cook Signs with Bellevue University

Cypress College basketball standout Jerred Cook has committed to play NAIA basketball next season at Bellevue University. The Bellevue Bruins have advanced to the NAIA Tournament 13 years in a row and are the defending MCAC Champions. When asked about heading off to play at the next level Cook said, "I'm anxious to play on a high level team and I want to leave my imprint at Bellevue University in the upcoming seasons".

Cook was the Chargers second leading scorer last season, averaging 11.2 PPG to go along with 2.1 APG while shooting a team leading 40.1% from behind the three-point line. After two seasons with the Chargers Cook has moved into the Cypress College top 10 all-time for career 3PT FG made, 3PT FG attempted, 3PT FG%, and FT%. Cook was a knockdown shooter for Cypress, making as many as nine three-pointers in a single game, "It's the best feeling ever when your shot is on" said Cook.

Along with his success on the floor, Cook is transferring from Cypress with a 3.0 GPA and plans to major in Kinesiology. Cook would eventually like to become a physical therapist and focus on helping athletes.
