Cypress – The Cypress men's basketball team (8-10, 1-2 OEC) notched its first conference win of the season on Friday evening, defeating Santa Ana (9-9, 1-2 OEC) 58-45.

Jeremy Wright led the team in scoring with a season-high 26 points as the freshman shot 9-of-12 from the field and 6-of-8 from the three-point line. The Chargers shot 40% from the field, while Santa Ana shot just 33.

Tonight's win avenged an earlier one point loss to the Dons in the San Diego Mesa Tournament Championship final on December 30th.

Cypress continues its home stand on Wednesday, Jan. 21 when it hosts Irvine Valley (9-9, 2-1 OEC) at 7:00 pm. The team then heads to rival Fullerton on Friday, Jan. 23 for a game at seven.
