Cypress Baseball to Host "Miracle League of Orange County"

Cypress, CA - Cypress College Baseball will host the Miracle League of Orange County on Saturday, April 23 at 3:00pm. Following the Chargers' game against Santa Ana College on April 23rd at 12:00pm, the team will take the field once more to provide children with physical and developmental disabilities an opportunity to play baseball.

The Miracle League is a non-profit organization that serves children with disabilities by providing them a chance to play baseball as a team member in an organized league setting. According to their website, "Through the Buddy System, volunteers join our players on the field to help them hit, run and catch balls. The result is an understanding, a respect, and a bond that is indescribable."

This event is a special opportunity for Cypress College athletics to build on an already strong relationship with the local community and open their athletes perspective on how they can use their talents and influence for the greater good.

"This is a great experience for our players to work with the community," said head coach Scott Pickler. "I believe these young men will get just as much from this experience as the children participating in the game."
