Cypress, CA – The Cypress College baseball team (12-2, 2-0 OEC) defeated Orange Coast College (9-8, 0-2 OEC) 11-2 in game two of their three game series on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore DH Elijah Skipps (2-for-5) led the Chargers with two hits, two RBI, and two runs. Paul Gomez (2-for-3), Aaron Case (2-for-4), and Nick Reeser (2-for-3) each scored two runs to help lift Cypress to victory. Starting pitcher Henry Martinez (3-1) receives his third win of the season despite allowing seven hits and one run in four innings at the mound.
Orange Coast DH Daniel Hawkins finished 3-for-4 at the plate, while Nolan Powers (2-for-3) and James Mclellan (1-for-3) scored the team's only runs.
The Chargers will return to action against the Pirates as they travel to Orange Coast for the third and final game of the series on Thursday, March 10 at 2:00 pm.
