Cypress Softball Triumphs Over Palomar in Elimination Round

SARATOGA, CA - In a crucial elimination round of the 3C2A State Tournament, Cypress Softball delivered an outstanding performance, defeating the Palomar Comets 7-1.

Cypress Softball faced a challenging start to day two of the 3C2A State Tournament, going up against the No. 1 seed in the North, San Joaquin Delta. Despite a strong effort, the Chargers were unable to score, and Delta capitalized on Cypress's mistakes, securing a 3-0 victory and advancing in the winners bracket.

However, Cypress bounced back impressively in the elimination round against the Palomar Comets, securing a decisive 7-1 victory to keep their championship hopes alive.

The Chargers wasted no time in setting the tone, with Kaitlyn Reynolds launching a solo home run to left field in the 1st inning, putting Cypress ahead 1-0.

In the 3rd inning, Makayla Motis singled to right center, driving in two runs as Reynolds advanced to third, and Julia Doan and Nanea Kyle crossed the plate, extending the lead to 3-0.

The 4th inning saw more action from Cypress as Doan doubled to left field, bringing home Kyle and Mikala Jacobsen to make it 5-0. Shortly after, Reynolds singled up the middle, allowing Doan to score and increasing the lead to 6-0.

Palomar managed to get on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum, leaving the score at 6-1.

Cypress sealed their victory in the 6th inning with a sacrifice fly by Motis, allowing Doan to score and solidifying the final score at 7-1.
