CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress College women's volleyball team (4-1) did not lay down when they fell behind two sets to one in Friday night's match against Mt. SAC (1-5). The Chargers found a way to win the last two sets of the night defeating the Mounties, 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-17, 15-7).
The two teams competed well going back-and-forth in the first three sets of the match, until Cypress came back locking in the victory by dominating in the final two sets. The front row duo, Mary Hicks and Brittany Zavala, each ended with double-digit kills, combining for 31 kills on the night.
The Cypress defense came alive in the second half of the match, with Lauren Adamo, Ashley Corona, and Zavala each notching double-digit digs on the night.
Women's volleyball will return this Friday, September 20th at Long Beach City College starting at 6:00pm.
