CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress College women's soccer team (5-0-1, 1-0 OEC) hosted their first home match of the season to open conference-play against Fullerton College (2-5, 0-1 OEC). The Chargers pushed offensively throughout the match and secured the 2-0 victory over the Hornets.
The Chargers were active offensively as they took control of the ball right at the start of the match. It was Presli Dillon who led the Chargers with their first goal on a 20-yard free kick in the 29th minute. Then, Carisia Raygoza out-hustled the Hornets defense to strike a goal at the 42nd minute. The Chargers had out-shot the Hornets 10-5 in the first half and had no intention of letting up.
In the second half, the Chargers defense held Fullerton to only two shots on goal. Cypress maintained control of the ball and the lead to defeat the Hornets, 2-0.
