8 Lady Chargers Represent Cypress On All-OEC Team
The Orange Empire Conference has released the 2021 All-Conference teams for women's soccer. Cypress has eight selections; Jassmin Ortiz, Anahi Diaz, Siriana Gudino and Jade Bernardo being named to the first team and Alyssa Villalobos, Presli Dillon, Lucia Yanez and Fabiola Salazar named to the second team.
CYPRESS, CA – The Orange Empire Conference has released the 2021 All-Conference teams for women's soccer. Cypress has eight selections; Jassmin Ortiz, Anahi Diaz, Siriana Gudino and Jade Bernardo being named to the first team and Alyssa Villalobos, Presli Dillon, Lucia Yanez and Fabiola Salazar named to the second team.
FIRST TEAM
Jassmin Ortiz is a freshman center back from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, CA. Ortiz was the back bone of the Cypress defense that allowed only 13 goals in 24 games played. Ortiz was named captain of the Chargers in her first season as she led the team to the State Championship.
Anahi Diaz led the Chargers with 10 assists in her 2nd season with Cypress. Diaz also scored her final goal of the season in a win against Fresno College in the CCCAA Semi-Finals.
Women's Soccer goalkeepers, Siriana Gudino and Jade Bernardo, had a combined total of 15 shutouts on the season where they both impressed when protecting the Cypress net. Gudino had 7 goals against along with 48 saves while Bernardo contributed with 35 saves and 5 goals against.
Second Team
Presli Dillon was selected to the All-OEC Second Team in her first year as a Charger. Dillon played left and right back for Cypress as she was dominant on the defensive end through out the season.
Lucia Yanez was another stellar defender for Cypress that was selected to the Second Team. Yanez also contributed on the offensive end for the Chargers with four goals and six assists.
Alyssa Villalobos had an impressive freshman season finishing with four goals and four assists. Villalobos scored a game-winning goal against Fullerton College (10/19) to give the Chargers a 1-0 victory contributing to her Second-Team All-OEC selection.
Fabiola Salazar earned Second-Team All-OEC in her second season with the Chargers. Salazar managed the midfield for Cypress scoring two goals on the season.
