#1 Women's Soccer Wins in Commanding Fashion, 5-0

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress Chargers women's soccer team (8-0-1, 3-0-1 OEC) took on the Santa Ana Dons (2-5-3, 0-3-2 OEC) on Tuesday afternoon. The Chargers coasted to victory with ease, 5-0.

Women's soccer was back on the field and focused coming off their first draw of the season last week against Saddleback. The offense was led by Alyssa Villalobos who had eight shots four of which were on goal. Villalobos found the back of the net twice and also added an assist to the scoresheet. Anahi Diaz led the team with two assists, followed by Lucia Yanez who totaled one goal and one assist. Amanda Saldana scored the first goal of the game which also happened to be her first goal of the season.

The Chargers scored four of their five goals in the first half as their offensive attack was much too strong for the Dons. The second goal of the game came off a beautiful cross from Lucia Yanez that was finished by Alyssa Villalobos (14'). Goals three and four were scored within two minutes of one another to finish off a 4-0 halftime lead for the Chargers. Cypress found the back of the net in the 47th minute on a goal by Alyssa Villalobos to score the final goal of the match.

Up Next: Cypress will face a tough test in their next matchup on the road at #2 Santiago Canyon (10-0-1, 4-0-1 OEC). Friday's kickoff will be at 3pm.
