CYPRESS, CA- Cypress women's soccer (9-1-1, 4-1-1 OEC) was back on their home pitch on Tuesday afternoon to face the inter-district rival Fullerton Hornets (5-5-2, 2-4-1 OEC). The defensive battle was controlled by the Chargers as they took a 1-0 victory. 

The first half was evenly matched as both the Chargers and Hornets recorded four shots a piece. In the 18th minute, Alyssa Villalobos found the back of the net off a ball that popped around the six yard box to score the only goal of the match. Much of the game was played at midfield as both teams struggled to find their offensive attack. Cypress led the way in shots (7), corner kicks (4), and fouls (10) on their way to their fourth OEC victory. The win completes the first rotation of confernce play for the Chargers where they finished (4-1-1). 

UP NEXT: The Chargers will take on Irvine Valley for the second time this season on Friday afternoon. The Chargers and Lasers will kick off at 3pm.
