Cypress College Athletics Kicks Off 2024-2025 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
Cypress College Athletics Launches 2024-2025 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Led by Coach Brittany Imaku
CYPRESS, CA — Cypress College Athletics has officially kicked off the 2024-2025 season for its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) with a strong start, welcoming over 20 student-athletes to the first meeting of the year. This year, the SAAC is led by Women's Basketball Head Coach and former Charger, Brittany Imaku, continuing a tradition of leadership and advocacy for Cypress student-athletes.
The first-ever SAAC at Cypress College was established in the 2016-2017 season under the guidance of Men's Basketball Head Coach, Andrew Alhadeff. This year's first meeting set the stage for another impactful season, as club officer nominations took place for key positions within the committee. Congratulations to Karly Lepel from Women's Water Polo, who was named President; Felipe Castro from Men's Water Polo, named Vice President; and Kendall Turner from Women's Water Polo, named Secretary.
The SAAC is dedicated to fostering community outreach, holding roundtable discussions, and promoting the Athletes Backing Athletes initiative, encouraging student-athletes to support each other at athletic events across all sports. The overall goal is to strengthen the bonds within the Charger family and create lasting connections between student-athletes and the Cypress College faculty, staff, and administrators.
The committee will continue to focus on uniting the Cypress College Athletics community and enhancing the student-athlete experience on campus.
