Chargers men's basketball alum (2013-15), Jerred Cook has climbed the ranks at Westcliff University. After one season at Westcliff, Cook has been promoted to head coach at the young age of 26. Cook was named captain during the 2014-15 season for the Chargers and went on to play NAIA basketball at Bellevue University in Omaha, Nebraska.

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress Athletics remembers the legendary career of Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Chemistry Professor, Tom Lubin. On July 1, 2020 Coach Lubin lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia at the age of 80.

The Orange Empire Conference (OEC) has named Cypress College men's basketball's, Demetri Mariolis. the recipient of the 2020 Nevco Character Champion Award. Women's basketball Jacklynn Tran, was selected to the OEC character champion team as well.
The Cypress College men's basketball team saw their season come to an end in the opening round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional on Wednesday night. The Chargers (16-13, No. 19 seed) fell to San Bernardino Valley College (20-9, No. 14 seed) 60-43 at the San Bernardino Gymnasium.

At the annual post-conference men's basketball coaches meeting, the OEC coaches selected the First and Second All-Orange Empire Conference Teams. Cypress Sebastian Castro was selected to First Team All-OEC.

Sophomore men's basketball standout, Kamron Barnes, earned his first career Charger of the Week Award during Thursday's practice. Barnes is the first member of the men's basketball team to earn the award this season.

Cypress, CA- The Cypress College men's basketball team (13-10, 4-7 OEC) shocked the visiting Fullerton College Hornets (19-3, 8-3 OEC) on Friday night, 57-50. Fullerton are the defending State Champions and came into the game ranked No. 3 in the state.

Cypress, CA- Men’s basketball defeats Golden West 71-40 in a strong offensive performance by the Chargers. Their record stretches to (12-8, 3-5 OEC) and the Rustlers fall to (3-17, OEC 2-7).

CYPRESS, CA- The Chargers (11-8, 2-5 OEC) struggle as they fall to Irvine Valley (13-5, 3-3 OEC) at home on Wednesday night. After a strong defensive effort, the Chargers were unable to get anything going on the offensive end to secure a victory. Final score 47-35.

SANTA ANA, CA- The Cypress men’s basketball team captured a thrilling overtime win against the Santa Ana Dons (6-11, 1-4 OEC) on Monday Night. The 63-62 win was the Charger’s second OEC win of the year to push their record to (11-7, 2-4 OEC).
Mission Viejo, CA- The Cypress College men’s basketball team (8-4, 0-1 OEC) tipped off OEC play last night when they traveled to Saddleback College (7-5, 1-0 OEC) to take on the Gauchos. The Chargers fell in a defensive battle 54-43.
MONTEREY, CA – The Cypress College men's basketball team (8-2) traveled to Northern California for the Monterey Bay Classic, hosted by Monterey Peninsula College this past weekend. The Chargers finished the tournament 2-1 and were crowned Consolation Champions.

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress men’s basketball falls short of the championship in the Alan Hancock tournament. This was the first loss of the year for the Chargers as they fall to (5-1).
