IRVINE, CA – The Cypress College beach volleyball team (13-7, 8-2 OEC) is set for CCCAA postseason play following Friday's OEC Pairs Tournament at Irvine Valley College.
The Chargers will compete as a team in the CCCAA SoCal Regional round on Tuesday at El Camino College. Fifth-seeded Cypress will open the day against No. 12 Bakersfield at 11:00am, before taking on the No. 4 El Camino at 12:00pm. The winner of the three-team regional will advance to the CCCAA State Championships at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, CA on May 9.
Cypress' top pair, Khamis Berneker and Brittany Zavala, finished fourth in this year's OEC Pairs Tournament, qualifying the duo for the CCCAA Regional Pairs Tournament on Friday, May 3 at Irvine Valley College. Berneker/Zavala enter the tournament as the No. 14 overall seed and will open play against the No. 19 seed (fifth in Western State Conference).
