HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – The Cypress College beach volleyball team (13-7, 8-2 OEC) swept both Santa Ana and Golden West College 5-0 at the Newland Courts in Huntington Beach on Friday.
The two victories secured the Lady Chargers a share of the 2019 Orange Empire Conference West Division Title, the program's second title in three seasons.
Cypress will enter the OEC Pairs Tournament on Wednesday, April 24 and Friday, April 26, hosted by Irvine Valley College.
Cypress pair Khamis Berneker/Brittany Zavala enter the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed. As a team, the Chargers will begin play ranked No. 10 in the state according to the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll.
