Cypress Student Athletes Excel on the Field and In the Classroom

CYPRESS, CA- After battling through a season of the unknown, Cypress College student athletes were not only forced to change their athletic routine but also continued adapting to remote learning. Our student athletes went above and beyond achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.1 during the 2020-21 school year, improving from 3.0 the previous year. 59% of our student athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the 2020-2021 academic year.

The Cypress Chargers have continued to build on their academic success over the last few years and have remained focused on their studies while in-season. All 14 sports competed in the Spring of 2021 where 11 Cypress teams finished with a GPA above 3.0. 39 of our 209 student athletes achieved a 4.0+ GPA during the spring season and 143 students finished the year with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Six teams improved on their impressive average team GPA from the year prior, with Women's Basketball making the largerst jump from a 2.67 to a 3.12 GPA.
