Cypress College volleyball standout Makayla Taylor will be playing at the NCAA Division II level next season as a Cal State LA Golden Eagle. Taylor had a tremendous sophomore season with the Chargers as their starting middle blocker.
Cypress – The third-seed Cypress Chargers women’s volleyball team battled undefeated second-seed Grossmont to five games, but eventually fell in the regional final 3-2 (25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 14-25, 12-15) on Tuesday evening.

Costa Mesa – Cypress, the fifth-ranked team in the state, took down No. 6 Orange Coast on the road Wednesday evening, defeating the Pirates 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 26-24).
Cypress – The women’s volleyball team (13-2, 4-2 OEC) took care of business against Saddleback (2-9, 0-6 OEC) on Wednesday evening, defeating the Gauchos in three games (25-3, 25-16, 25-15).
Irvine – The women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss on the road Friday evening, falling to the No. 1 team in the state and conference, Irvine Valley (14-25, 17-25, 23-25).
Riverside – The women’s volleyball team (12-1, 3-1 OEC) notched its third straight OEC victory on Wednesday night, sweeping Riverside in three games (25-19, 25-21, 25-17).
Cypress – The women’s volleyball team defeated Golden West on Friday evening in four games (25-23, 25-22, 26-28, 25-14) to improve to 10-1 on the season and 2-1 in OEC matches.
Fullerton – The Cypress volleyball team improved to 10-1 (1-1 OEC) on Wednesday night after defeating previously unbeaten rival Fullerton in five sets (25-15, 22-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-7).
