No. 6 Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Saddleback on the Road, 3-0

Mission Viejo – The No. 6 Cypress women's soccer team notched its 12th shutout of the season on Friday afternoon, defeating Saddleback 3-0 on the road. The Chargers are now 12-1-4 on the season and 9-1-3 in OEC play, while Saddleback fell to 10-3-3 overall and 6-3-3 in conference action.

 
It took 38 minutes for the Chargers to strike first blow as Laura Najera scored the first goal after an Angela Umeres pass. They then tacked on a second goal in the 83rd minute when Kendra Serrano sent in a ball to Jackie Gomez, who scored her ninth goal of the season. With just under eight minutes to play, Marina Thomas found Liz Gutierrez who scored the third and final goal of the game.
 
Cypress returns home next week to host Norco on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 3:00 pm and then travels to Irvine Valley on Friday, Nov. 7 for its final regular season road contest.
