Women’s Soccer Remains Undefeated With 1-0 Win Over Fullerton

Cypress – The women's soccer team (9-0-4, 6-0-3 OEC) notched its 10th win of the season on Friday afternoon, defeating rival Fullerton (5-9, 2-7 OEC) 1-0 in a match that helped raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Both the men's and women's teams came together on Friday in a doubleheader versus the Hornets to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Orange County chapter will be receiving nearly $600 thanks to the Charger soccer teams and their fans that attended the games and donated to the cause.

On the pitch, the game was scoreless until the 79th minute when Layla Silva sent a diagonal ball into the box, connecting with Jenny Marin, who chest trapped the ball and volleyed it into the net for the only score of the game.

The women will head to Golden West on Tuesday, Oct. 21 before returning home on Friday, the 24th for a matchup with Santa Ana at 3:00 pm.
