Cypress – The No. 5 Cypress women's soccer team fell to top-ranked Santiago Canyon 1-0 on Monday afternoon to wrap up the regular season portion of its schedule. The Chargers are now 13-3-4 overall and 10-3-3 in conference play, while SCC improves to 16-0-3 on the year and 13-0-3 in OEC matches.
The Chargers completely dominated the first half of the match, with the majority of the game being played in Santiago's side of the field. However, SCC was able to score the only goal of the game in the 22nd minute of action.
Cypress outshot SCC 8-3 in the game, four of which were on goal.
With their regular season game schedule completed, the Chargers will now wait for playoff seedings to be announced next week. The team will most likely host a first round game on Saturday, Nov. 22.
