CYPRESS, Calif. --- Cypress Softball shocked the state of California earlier this afternoon when they defeated Palomar College in game one by a score of 10-4 and in game two of Saturday's double header by a score of 7-3.

Alejandra Guillen (9-1) picked up the win in game one while Desiree Lopez (17-9) picked up the victory in game two of the double header.  After today, Lopez now leads the Orange Empire Conference with the most wins this season.

Mylee Macahilig drove in Guillen for the fourth Chargers run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning in game number one, tying up the score at four runs a piece.

Kelsey Choate sealed the deal for Cypress in game one when she hit a double towards the right field wall in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Choate drove in Macahilig, Alendrina Pichardo and Victoria Coulter for the Chargers 10th and final run of the game.

The Chargers eventually held off the Comets and took the 10-4 victory heading into game two.

Cypress didn't have to rally back in the second game considering they controlled the contest from start to finish, taking down Palomar by a score of 7-3.

The back to back victories over Palomar gives Cypress the confidence to continue playing at a high level heading into the post season.

The Lady Chargers have four games left in regular season play and will travel to face Santiago Canyon on Wednesday, April 16, with first pitch set for 3:00 PM.
