CYPRESS, CA - Cypress men's soccer (4-6-2, 2-2-1 OEC) shutout Golden West College (3-3-6, 2-1-2 OEC) 2-0 to give them their first loss in the conference. 

The Chargers battled hard to the end of the game to dominate a 2-0 win. Cypress started off strong with their attempts to the net that were unsuccessful. However, just before the first half ended, Charger Abraham Guerra scored in front of the net with the assist by Rafay Shafique. 

The Chargers lead 1-0 at the start of the second half as both teams fought consistently. Then, Cypress forward Steven Ibanez scored off a beautiful pass from Jesus Sanchez in the box. With 11 shots on goal, the Chargers took the win at 2-0.

Cypress keeper, Jared Johnson saved four shots on goal. Abraham Guerra and Steven Ibanez scored their first goals of the season. 

UP NEXT: Cypress will travel to Fullerton College on Friday, October 13th. Kickoff will be at 3PM.
