Cypress Falls to Santa Ana

Cypress Falls to Santa Ana

CYPRESS, CA - Cypress men's soccer fell to the Santa Ana Dons, 2-1 on Friday afternoon.

The Chargers had an early opportunity to start the game with an open shot by Alex Monjaraz who hit the ball with too much power over the net. Both teams continued to play agreesively back and forth with each team totaling seven fouls in the first half. The Dons fouled David Rezko in the box which allowed Rezko to score the first goal of the match, 1-0. Santa Ana responded later in the half when Paul Carrillo put pressure on the Cypress defensive line and scored the Dons first goal to tie the match. Shortly after, the Dons led 2-1 with a goal from Remy Barazin.

As the Chargers were down in the start of the second half, the team recognized the need to regain control of possession in order to make a comeback. Cypress had six shot attempts and unfortunately, none of them were able to find the back of the net. Despite their efforts, the Dons were able to secure their 2-1 victory against the Chargers.

UP NEXT: The Chargers will host the Golden West Rustlers on Tuesday, October 10th. Game is set to begin at 3PM.
