Chargers Earn Top Ten Spot in CCCWPCA Rankings After Undefeated Week
CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress Chargers Women's Water Polo team has made waves by earning a spot in the top ten of the California Community College Women's Water Polo Coaches Association (CCCWPCA) rankings. A dominant 5-0 week, highlighted by a statement win over No. 7-ranked San Diego Miramar, secured the Chargers' place among the state's elite teams (click here to visit rankings).
Cypress currently boasts a 10-7 overall record, showing resilience despite facing challenging opponents in the highly competitive Orange Empire Conference (OEC). Several standout performances from key players have contributed to the team's success, with three Chargers placing among the top five on OEC leaderboards.
- Jillian Van Gemert (Freshman) ranks 3rd in the OEC with 71 goals.
- Karly Lepel (Sophomore) follows closely behind, ranked 4th with 53 goals.
- Brooke Shiohama (Sophomore) is tied for the No. 2 spot in the assists category with 29 assists.
