CYPRESS, CA – The No. 4-seed Lady Chargers (24-6) kept their State Championship hopes alive with an impressive 58-41 victory over No. 13-seed Moorpark College (20-10) at home on Saturday night.

Dominique Culhno led the way for Cypress with a game-high 13 points and 3 steals. Sylvia Garcia added 11 points and 2 assists for the Chargers.

Vanessa Desimone finished with a team-high 12 points and 7 rebounds for the Raiders. Elise Munoz-Albanez chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds.

Cypress dominated this one from the jump, beginning the game on a 12-2 run to take control. To Moorpark's credit, they answered with a run of their own to make it a 12-11 deficit. However, the Chargers answered with another 14-2 run to take a 26-13 lead into halftime. Cypress blew the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the raiders 21-9 to put the game out of reach.

The Chargers' full-court pressure proved to be too much for the Raiders. Moorpark turned it over 26 times resulting in 26 points for Cypress. Along with their stifling defense, the Chargers were feeling it from long-range, drilling 7-of-17 three-point attempts.

The Chargers will host Palomar College in a CCCAA Southern California Regional 3rd Round match-up on Saturday, March 4. Winner will advance to the State Championship Tournament at Las Positas College.
